The 2020 release of Kilchoman’s Loch Gorm single malt is a vatting of oloroso sherry butts from 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. Sweet aromas of malt, cinnamon, raisins and citrus mingle with sooty peat on the nose. The palate offers notes of toffee, smoked meats and sherry-soaked fruit, developing into honey, orange peel and sea salt. The finish is full of barbecue smoke, dark chocolate and apples, pears, plums, raisins and lingering oak spice.

Kilchoman Fino Sherry Cask Matured 2020 Release (46% abv)

An intriguing bottling here from Kilchoman, which has been matured fully in Fino sherry casks! The casks for this expression were used previously by Bodega Miguel Martin in Spain, including 11 fresh sherry butts and just the one refill butt. Combining the savoury notes of peaty whisky with the salinity of Fino, this ought to be great for someone looking to try something a little bit different. Master of Malt

Kilchoman Machir Bay and Sanaig Gift Pack (2 x 200 ml)

A gift pack of two 20cl bottles of Machir Bay and Sanaig. These are part of the Kilchoman core range and show the two main types of cask maturation we use for our spirit, ex-oloroso sherry and ex-bourbon from Buffalo Trace.

Machir Bay is a predominantly ex-bourbon influence on this release which is indicated in the cask influence graph on the front of the carton.

Sanaig has a prodominantly Oloroso sherry cask influence. These aged oloroso casks contribute a drastically transformed depth of colour and character compared to the mostly Bourbon cask matured Machir Bay.

Kilchoman Am Bùrach (“the mess” in Gaelic)(46% abv)

Limit of oner per customer

Kilchoman’s Am Bùrach was the tasty result of a little accident at the distillery – an unnamed stillman mixed together some Machir Bay and Port Matured Kilchoman while vatting casks! Dubbed Am Bùrach (“the mess” in Gaelic) by Kilchoman General Manager Islay Heads, the whisky was filled back into Bourbon barrels and eventually given a finishing period in ruby port casks. Though its maturation history may be a bit all over the shop, the whisky itself is marvellous indeed! Plenty of classic tuck shop sweeties and fresh fruit notes, paired with a good helping of grassy, earthy smoke. Fab stuff. Master of Malts

Kilchoman Madeira Finish Single Cask (56.2% abv)

A lovely combination of red fruit, ripe blood orange, and smoke. There’s also peat smoke, and sea spray, pepper and spices. Although it’s a heavily peated whisky, it’s very drinkable, mainly because of the Madeira influence. Distilled December 2011 Bottled August 2019
