Admiral Rodney Saint Lucia Rum HMS Formidable (40% abv)

(1 customer review)

Exclusively at Craft Cellars

Another terrific bottling in the ‘Battle of the Saints’ mini-series from St. Lucian distillers Admiral Rodney. Like the other bottlings in this range, the expression celebrates one of the ships commanded by Admiral Rodney in the Battle of the Saints – a crucial victory which established British naval dominance in the Caribbean.

This is the oldest bottling in the ‘Battle of the Saints’, with all the rums used in the blend between nine and 12 years old. All the spirit was distilled in Coffey stills, and aged in former Bourbon barrels.

The result is a luscious and decadent rum, which delivers waves of bright toasted oak, vanilla, chocolate, tropical fruit, dried fruit, molasses, mahogany, pot-pourri and mango.

An extraordinary, extra-old rum from a top-quality producer.

LoneWolf Gin (40% abv)

Juniper berries form the perfect backbone of this gin. And lemongrass and Kaffir lime leaf add character. A zest-filled start gives way to delicate spice notes from the coriander, pink peppercorns and mace: a perfect complement to the citrus fruits. Lavender provides a delicate floral sweetness and Scots pine needles help to embed the juniper.

Roku Gin Japanese Gin from Suntory (43% abv)

The first gin released by Suntory, the name “Roku” is Japanese for “Six” which refers to the six Japanese botanicals used. Sakura flower (cherry blossoms), sakura leaf (cherry leaf), sencha tea (green tea), Gyokuro tea (refined green tea), sanshō pepper, and yuzu are utilized along with eight other traditional gin botanicals. The gin is distilled using a selection of different pot stills. The label is printed with Japanese washi paper.

Shanky’s Whip Liqueur (33% abv)

This retro-looking bottle is an Irish whiskey liqueur called Shanky’s Whip! A base of spicy Irish whiskey has been infused with vanilla and caramel, so it’s super creamy (even though there’s no actual cream in it, mind). Plus, the chap on the label is being pulled along by an ostrich. What’s not to like?!

Tears Of Llorona No. 3 Extra Añejo Tequila (43% abv)

Originally intended to be German Gonzalez’ own private stock, Tears of Llorona No. 3 Extra Añejo Tequila is hand-crafted from 100% blue agave grown in the volcanic soil surrounding Atotonilco, in the highlands of Jalisco, where growth is extremely slow. Gonzalez selects these agaves late in the harvest, at their peak ripeness, using his years of experience and special knowledge passed down from his father. Once harvested, Gonzalez brings the agaves to his distillery where they are roasted, then shredded, in the traditional way to extract the sugar-rich juice called the aguamiel. The aguamiel is then fermented with a proprietary strain of yeast before being twice-distilled through copper pot stills. After distillation, the Tears of Llorona No. 3 Extra Añejo Tequila is aged for nearly five years in several different types of barrels — half ex-Scotch whisky barrels, a quarter Sherry casks and another quarter French Limousin barrels previously used to mature Cognac — before being blended together at optimal maturity.
