1792 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon

A high rye component adds peppery lift to the predominant and sweeter corn in this bourbon, formerly named Ridgemont Reserve. But this is a rich, creamy spirit at its core. Brown sugar, butter, toffee, apple pie and licorice come through on a velvety texture. It carries the (precisely measured) 46.85-per-cent alcohol well, thanks to its depth of flavour. Score – 94. (Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail, Jan. 17, 2017 )

Baker’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (53.5% abv)

An excellent small batch bourbon, named for the grand nephew of Jim Beam, Baker Beam. This is a well-aged expression which makes use of a special strain of jug yeast which the Beam family have made use of for over 60 years.

Distilled to a lower proof, then barreled and aged for several years in small batches; producing an amber colour, offering notes of toasted nuts, caramelized bananas, orange peel, vanilla, and spice. The robust flavours continue on the warm palate and add balance to the silky texture culminating in a smooth finish.

Basil Hayden Kentucky Bourbon (40% abv)

The recipe for this classic Bourbon dates back to 1796. Amber in colour; on the nose are notes of dried apricot, caramel, custard, green peppercorn and hay; on the palate it is medium-bodied and warming, with flavours of white pepper, burnt sugar, dried white flowers and vanilla that finishes with a lingering herbal spice.

Basil Hayden’s Caribbean Reserve Rye (40% abv)

Basil Hayden’s Caribbean Reserve Rye takes inspiration from the sweet and spicy contrast between rye whiskey and rum. The limited-time offering features a blend of 8-year-old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey and 4-year-old Canadian Rye Whisky, which bring to life layers of flavor, including distinct spice, toasted oak and vanilla notes. The blend is then finished with the addition of Black Strap Rum which ties the rye whiskey pairing together with sweet notes of brown sugar and molasses. The result is a balanced whiskey that remains approachable to discover at 80 proof.

Basil Hayden’s Dark Rye

Blending is an art form, and our Dark Rye is your chance to own what might very well be a masterpiece.

It all begins with Kentucky Rye, providing a firm foundation of spice, oak, dried fruit and subtle molasses undertones for this release to build upon. From there, Canadian Rye from our award-winning Alberta Distillery is skillfully layered in. A touch of California Port, and its complementary notes of ripe fruit, provides the third and final layer to a whiskey just as at home on the rocks as it is in a cocktail.

Full in flavor, yet delicately nuanced, you’d be wise to grab a bottle of our Dark Rye to experience this magical blend for yourself.

Basil Hayden’s Two By Two Rye

Basil Hayden’s Two by Two Rye is the third release in the limited edition Basil Hayden’s rye line following Basil Hayden’s Rye Whiskey and Basil Hayden’s Dark Rye. Two by Two Rye is a blend of two Kentucky straight rye whiskeys and two Kentucky straight bourbon whiskeys. While no mashbill or blend percentage is given, Beam Suntory did state that the blend consists of a 5 year old Kentucky straight rye, a 7 year old “high-rye” Kentucky straight rye, a 13 year old Kentucky straight bourbon, and a 6 year old Kentucky straight bourbon.

Booker was a sixth-generation master distiller who grew up at a distillery in the heart of Kentucky. He was born to bourbon. While others rejoiced to drink bourbon at age 21, Booker was thrilled to start making the stuff.

In 1992, Booker introduced the world to small batch bourbon. He actually coined the term “small batch.” With it came his own signature bourbon, Booker’s® True Barrel Bourbon. Inspired by a 200-year-old tradition, Booker’s® is bottled uncut and unfiltered*.

Bull Moose Three Barrel Rye Whisky (45% abv)

Rough Rider Bull Moose Three Barrel Rye Whisky spends a bit of time maturing in three different specially selected casks that impart distinctive character along the way. The journey begins in New American Oak casks where the Rye Whisky takes shape with its resolute spicy sweet cinnamon flavors. When the time is right, the Rye Whisky is moved to casks that had just held Straight Bourbon, where the flavors of the Rye and Bourbon get to know each other better.

When the Rye is done mingling with the Bourbon flavors, it is then moved to its final cask which had just held Pine Barrens Single Malt Whisky. This unique Three Barrel aging method provides Rough Rider Rye with a crisp fruity sweetness on the nose, followed by spice, caramel, vanilla and blackberry on the palate, lauded by a royal symphony of long, warm rye-ness, with a toasty, velvety finish.

Colonel EH Taylor Single Barrel (50% abv)

Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. is widely considered one of the founding fathers of the bourbon industry, fighting for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, nearly three decades after he purchased what is now called Buffalo Trace Distillery. During his time, Taylor implemented several innovative methods still used today, including climate controlled aging warehouses. E.H. Taylor, Jr. Single Barrel is aged exclusively in Warehouse C, which was built by Taylor in 1881 and proven to be an excellent aging warehouse. Each barrel is hand-picked and Bottled in Bond at 100 proof to honor its namesake.
