1792 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon

A high rye component adds peppery lift to the predominant and sweeter corn in this bourbon, formerly named Ridgemont Reserve. But this is a rich, creamy spirit at its core. Brown sugar, butter, toffee, apple pie and licorice come through on a velvety texture. It carries the (precisely measured) 46.85-per-cent alcohol well, thanks to its depth of flavour. Score – 94. (Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail, Jan. 17, 2017 )

Basil Hayden passed along the art of distilling to his son and then, in turn, to his grandson. It was the third generation distiller, Colonel R.B. Hayden, who honored his grandfather by naming his justly famed whiskey “Old Grand-Dad.”

Rough Rider Bourbon

Rough Rider Straight Bourbon Whisky is aged Bourbon with a mash bill of 60% corn, 35% rye, and 5% barley aged in new charred American oak barrels.

The magic then begins as the Bourbon takes on a new character and goes through a second maturation in our Reserve Aging process in casks formerly housing Merlot and Chardonnay from renowned Long Island wine estates. These casks are washed with high proof aged Brandy before introducing the Bourbon.

The result is a fine sturdy backbone with a hint of fresh juice, blackberry and currant, along with caramel and burnt sugar with a heady heat on the finish.

Sonoma West Of Kentucky Bourbon

Creating our take on classic Kentucky Bourbon, the red bridge is a nod to the dash of locally smoked California Cherrywood-smoked barley added to the American yellow corn and rye. Aged in new, charred American oak for no less than one year, dark dulcet flavors emerge without too much smoke or sweetness. Notes of Marachino Cherry, light smoke, allspice, vanilla and sarsaparilla. This is California’s Bourbon Whiskey.

Born in 1825, William Larue Weller was one of the early whiskey pioneers in Kentucky.  After serving with the Louisville Brigade in the 1840’s, Weller returned to Louisville to open his wholesale liquor business. Weller developed his original bourbon recipe with wheat, rather than rye in the mash bill. Wheat is a soft grain providing his bourbon with a mild, gentle and smooth taste.
