Clonakilty Port Cask Finish Irish Whiskey (43.6% abv)

The barrels for the Clonakilty Port Finish Blended Whiskey are stored on the rough cliffs in the south of Ireland. The whiskey was dazzled with 7-10 year old bourbon barrel matured single malt and single grain whiskey. After blending, the whiskey was added to the Port Wine Cask to give it an excellent finish. In the glass, the whiskey captivates with its great color. The port wine barrel has given him a great red tone.

Hyde No. 6 President’s Reserve 1938 Sherry Cask Finish(46% abv)

Hyde No.6 is a blended whiskey that consists of 8 year old grain and 18 Year Old Single malt whiskeys. It does not have any age statement on the bottle, but who cares when the liquid is just this damn good. I have tried most of the releases from Hyde Irish Whiskey but this one is special.

Hyde No.6 is one of the best releases from Hyde Irish Whiskey to date. It is a special limited edition and I’d recommend picking up a bottle soon before they are gone. The President’s Reserve is selected from the master blenders very special selection of old reserve Irish whiskey casks and only 5000 bottles have been released. The Whiskey is named 1938 in honour of Ireland’s very first President, Douglas Hyde, who was inaugurated into office on the 28th of June 1938.

Midleton Very Rare Irish Whiskey 2021 (40% abv)

Heralding the 37th edition in our world renowned and highly collectable range, in his final days as Master Distiller, Brian continued the long-standing tradition of hand-selecting whiskeys reserved for this coveted annual expression from Midleton Distillery’s supreme inventory for the last.

Chosen from the most exceptional quality single pot still and single grain Irish whiskeys laid down over the past four decades in Midleton, Co Cork, Midleton Very Rare 2021 is aged from 13 to 35 years in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels.

Brian Nation selected a high pot still inclusion at 83%, as well as a notable contribution from third fill casks. The result is a luxurious and balanced whiskey with rich pot still connotations, where the distillate takes centre stage thanks to the use of refilled casks – a fitting legacy for one of Irish whiskey’s great Master Distillers.

Pearse Lyons 7 Year Old Irish Whiskey (43% abv)

It’s the 7 year old expression from Ireland’s Pearse Lyons! This blended whiskey was predominantly matured in bourbon barrels, though a smidge was matured in sherry casks for good measure. The distillery’s very own single malt is in the mix, so there’s a good helping of malty notes alongside dried fruit, spice and orchard fruit.

Proper No. Twelve Whiskey (40% abv)

A delicious blended Irish whiskey that has been aged in ex-bourbon barrels, giving it smooth notes of vanilla, honey and toasted oak. Made at one of Ireland’s oldest distilleries, this whiskey has a traditional Irish character.

“Born and bred in the Dublin suburb of Crumlin, Dublin 12. Proper Twelve is who I am,” McGregor stated. “I wanted to make an Irish whiskey emblematic of Irish culture as a whole, and something that would showcase the great skill we possess of distilling the best Whiskey in the entire world.”

Velvet Cap Irish Whiskey (40% abv)

Velvet Cap Irish Whiskey is a small batch blend of malt and grain whiskies sourced from some of Ireland’s finest distilleries. After blending, we rest the whiskey in a selection of bourbon, port and stouted rye casks to let the flavours marry.

On the nose expect candied banana, honey, dark stonefruit & almond leading way to a luscious mouthfeel with flavours of vanilla, plum, and agave.

This is a whiskey to be readily enjoyed, as Peter Mulryan CEO of Blackwater Distillery says ‘Here we have always been whiskey drinkers, not collectors. The idea behind Velvet Cap was to create a whiskey to be savoured, not stashed away on a shelf”.

West Cork Distillers Original Blended Irish Whiskey (40% abv)

A delicate blend of grain (75%) and malt (25%) whiskey matured in bourbon casks. Each bottle is Triple Distilled, Non-Chill Filtered and carefully crafted using the finest of Local Ingredients.

A delicate blend of triple distilled malt and grain whiskies matured in ex-bourbon casks, with a slight citrus and cracked pepper aroma. A smooth and balanced whiskey, the taste is one of malt, lingering sweetness, citrus, apple and nutmeg.

Wicklow Rare Small Batch Blend (43% abv)

“Blend – 80% Grain / 20% Ten year old malt. Matured in first fill Bourbon barrels for 4 years, Finished in Oloroso casks for 6 months. 43% ABV”

Pale gold in color. Aromas of vanilla, honey and baked fruits (confit). Very smooth entry and then expansive with a mouth coating, oily texture. Mid palate shows a nuttiness and warmth with hints of raisin and plum. Long, clean finish with subtle marmalade notes and caramel. The Wicklow Blend is as mysterious as the ancient mountains that this blended Irish Whiskey is named for.
