Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Single Malt Sherry Finish

A noticeably darker colour for this special sherry-finished Tyrconnell single malt from the Cooley distillery. Bottled at the ideal strength of 46%, this picked up a well-deserved gong at the World Whisky Awards 2010. Picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010.

Tyrconnell 15 Year Old Madeira Finish (46% abv)

The Tyrconnell 15 Year Old Madeira Finish builds on the high reputation of it’s sister bottling at 10 years old which is a firm favourite amongst the Kilbeggan Distillery portfolio. This new expression has raised the bar even higher and delivers a polished and rich flavour experience. We expect this single malt to be hugely popular amongst our customers and we only hope that the distillery has enough of it to go around!

Tyrconnell 16 Year Old Oloroso & Moscatel Cask Finish (46% abv)

Double-distilled Irish whiskey from the Kilbeggan Distilling Co., Tyrconnell was first produced to celebrate the victory of a racehorse of the same name at the 1876 National Produce Stakes horse race. This expression has been aged for 16 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before a victory lap in Oloroso sherry casks and Moscatel wine casks from Andalucia. Bottled at 46% abv, this expression is a limited edition.

The nose has honeysuckle and champagne with peach, apple and figs. The palate is nutty with rich dark chocolate and sweet honeycomb notes, before a long and dry finish brings lime, grapefruit and warming spiced oak.

Wicklow Rare Small Batch Blend (43% abv)

“Blend – 80% Grain / 20% Ten year old malt. Matured in first fill Bourbon barrels for 4 years, Finished in Oloroso casks for 6 months. 43% ABV”

Pale gold in color. Aromas of vanilla, honey and baked fruits (confit). Very smooth entry and then expansive with a mouth coating, oily texture. Mid palate shows a nuttiness and warmth with hints of raisin and plum. Long, clean finish with subtle marmalade notes and caramel. The Wicklow Blend is as mysterious as the ancient mountains that this blended Irish Whiskey is named for.

Writers Tears Cask Strength 2018 Release (53% abv)

The 2018 vintage is the 8th annual release of this super-premium whiskey from Walsh Whiskey. It is a rare vatting of aged Single Pot Still and Single Malt Whiskey. Writers’ Tears Cask Strength is triple distilled, natural non-chill filtered, carefully aged in Bourbon barrels and bottled at 53% ABV. The release is limited to just 5,175 individually numbered bottles, signed by Walsh Whiskey Founder and Chief Executive – Bernard Walsh.

 

Writers Tears Copper Pot & 2 Glasses Gift Pack (40% abv)

A gift pack containing a bottle of Writers Tears Copper Pot and a pair of glasses. A combination of pure pot still and malt whiskeys from an unnamed Cork distillery, Jim Murray gave this one 93 points.
