1975 anCnoc Vintage Limited Edition (44.2% abv)

Released in February 2015 this Limited Edition Single Malt was drawn from just three casks at our picturesque Knockdhu Distillery in Huntly.  Distinguished by its bronze tone, anCnoc 1975 Vintage is neither chill-filtered nor coloured and is bottled at its natural cask strength of 44.2% ABV.  Matured in Spanish and American oak casks, the whisky is full-bodied, intense and complex with notes of fruit cake, sticky toffee and seasoned leather which leads to a long, sweet finish. Aberfeldy 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt (40% abv)

A fruity, clean and polished malt with a touch of honey and spice, Aberfeldy 12 Year Old is an excellent introduction to this Highland distillery. Aberfeldy’s main claim to fame is as the heart of the excellent Dewar’s blend but whiskies like this are putting it firmly in the spotlight.

Aberfeldy 16 Year Old Madeira Finish (1 Litre, 40% abv)

Aberfeldy 16 Year Old was released in 2015 as part of The Last Great Malts series. Matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, this has lovely balance between sweetness and spiciness.

Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Pauillac Limited Edition (43% abv)

An incredibly elegant and fruitful whisky that initially spent 18 years in a combination of refill casks and a finishing period of around 4-5 months in first-fill Pauillac wine casks, a rich and complex red wine from Bordeaux. Offers Aberfeldy’s wonderfully soft signature honey and creamy vanilla notes invigorated with swathes of plush ripe fruits and lovely nutty aromas.

Ardmore ‘Hepburn’s Choice’ 2013 / 6 years old (46% abv)

This expression is a vatting of just two bariques previously home to wine, with a maturation period of six years the whisky has seen a prominent influence from the French oak. Ardmore distillery is somewhat famous as it is one of the few distilleries founded in the highlands after the arrival of the railways which has always used peat in its maltings. It is typically strongly smokey with an underlying sweetness, in this case the wine casks have enhanced and enriched the fruity character of the malt.

Ardnamurchan 2015 Single Cask Refill Oloroso Puncheon #335(58.5% abv)

The very first Single Cask release from Ardnamurchan!

The first ever official single cask release from Ardnamurchan distillery, which was matured in a refill Oloroso sherry puncheon and bottled up at 58.5% ABV. A much-anticipated release from this new Highland distillery, with only 696 bottles produced. Notes of cherry and almond cake with zests of lemon and subtle blooms of smoke in the background. Must have for those that collect whisky as this is a rare find!

Filled from a 1st fill American Oak ex bourbon barrel.

Peated 30ppm barley – concerto

Nose – smouldering driftwood, sea salt, smoked Gouda cheese, lanolin, Granny Smith apples, brine.

Palate – Manuka honey on buttered toast, good texture, white pepper, sea salt again, apple pie, ashy, lemon.

Finish – long, lingering and zesty

 

Ardnamurchan Single Malt Scotch Whisky (46.8% abv)

This popular expression from mainland Scotland’s most westerly distillery combines peated and unpeated malt. It was then matured in a combination of sherry casks (35%) and bourbon casks (65%) before being bottled up at 46.8% ABV.

Balblair 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky (46% abv)

Balblair’s core range recently received a relaunch, eschewing the vintages that had previously adorned the bottles in favour of age statements! This is the entry level expression of the range, a 12 year old single malt matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and double-fired American oak casks. Though the vintages are gone, Balblair’s whisky retains its marvellous creaminess and fruit-forward flavour profile.
