Adelphi Ardnamurchan 2017 AD (53.6% abv)

Founded in 2014, the Ardnamurchan distillery is already renowned for bottling sell-out editions of spirit too young to be called whisky. This latest version promises to be just as popular, not least because of its extra innovation: the bottle features a QR code that, using blockchain technology, links to a secure digital certificate and record of the bottle’s unique story.

Ardnamurchan Spirit 2017 AD is a mix of peated and unpeated spirits matured in sherry octaves, then married in ex-Pedro Ximénez casks for an extra four months. The resulting notes are of honey-roasted nuts, sultanas, baked apples, liquorice allsorts, rock salt and nutmeg.

Adelphi Bowmore 1994 25 Year Old Islay (54.2% abv)

25 years in a refill sherry cask gives this Bowmore lovely rich notes to match the excellent smoke. The early to mid 90’s Bowmores have built up a following with their fruitiness and complexity. It’s neighbour cask, which was a 23 year old Bowmore #553 sold quickly, and more than likely this one will sell pretty quickly too.

Adelphi Breath Of Speyside 11 Year Old (58.4% abv)

A pale amber colour with moderate beading. From a firstfill Sherry cask.

The top note is floral (moorland), on a base of soft vanilla fudge. Sticky!

Water dries out and sweetens the aroma, introducing boiled sweets. Smooth texture, slightly spritzich; sweet taste (more boiled sweets – lemon and pear), with drying in the short finish.

At reduced strength the taste is sticky toffee pudding, then dry and peppery. Liquid toffee in the development.

Adelphi Bunnahabhain 2009 (58.9% abv)

The 1st fill ex-Sherry butt maturation has given this whisky a fantastic colour of old oak with a medium bead. On the nose sparklers by a beach bonfire on Guy Fawkes night; a meat pie accompanied with a hot cup of Bovril. There are also nuances of cheese rind in the background. On the palate: rockpools, gunpowder, hot sand, borage honey and ginger. Finishes malty with a hint of ginger.

Adelphi Dalmore 1998 21 Year-Old Highland (57.2% abv)

A beautiful colour of golden hay. On the nose we found lots of fruit. Stone fruits, fruit salad, white peach and honeysuckle. Along with this it has a beeswax influence. On the palate it delivers honeydew melon, satsuma oranges, green apple and spearmint. It has fantastic mouthfeel and the finish is long and mouth cooling.

Amrut Double Cask 2nd Edition (46% abv)

“A rich, honeyed profile with loads of vanilla pods and creamy cake. Also quite floral, mainly buttercups. There’s plenty of fruits: pineapple candy, pink grapefruit, banana, caramelized apples… Apple pie. Hints of sweet oak and barley sugar. Just excellent – it’s like a Speyside grandpa with the vivacity of a youngster.” Amrut

Amrut Peated Indian Single Malt Whisky (46% abv)

“Despite the nose, the immediate sensation is one of being caressed by molassed sugar and then a ratching up of the peat notes. As they get more forceful, so the experience becomes that little bit drier and spicier, though not without the molasses refusing to give way” Amrut
