 Glen Grant 1962 Archives– Rich Sherry influences, dark fruits – dried figs and blackcurrant with spicy cloves. Thick treacle notes give way to polished oak and aged leather. The palate has fruitcake, intense spices , Seville orange and charred oak flavours. Morello cherries and liquorice give way to a charred edge and subtle coffee grounds. The finish is long and full bodied with plenty of spice and oak. Aultmore 2006 Cadenhead’s 12 Year Old Small Batch (57.4% abv)

Although famed for their single cask releases, Wm. Cadenhead also produce this small batch series, bottled from vattings of never more than four casks from a single vintage and distillery. As with all their bottlings, these are non-chillfiltered with no added colouring.

A 2006 vintage bottling of Aultmore, this is one of 1044 bottles drawn from four bourbon hogsheads.

Balvenie 12 Year Old – The Sweet Toast of American Oak (43% abv)

Stories always start at the beginning and this is the introductory release from The Balvenie Stories range! These releases all give light to events and people in Balvenie’s past and present – this one, for example, takes inspiration from apprentice malt master Kelsey McKechnie and her idea to import virgin oak barrels from Kentucky and deeply toast them at the distillery’s cooperage. They were then filled with Balvenie’s ex-bourbon oak aged whisky for a finishing period, resulting in the whisky you see here!
