‘We try to highlight the tipicity of each varietal with every bottle of Pequeñas Producciones. In order to do this, we select the most appropriate terroir for each of the varieties that are a part of this high- end line, bringing its highest expression to each bottle” Matías Ciciani, Winemaker. Escorihuela Gascón.
This Pinot Grigio is characterised by a straw-yellow colour. Its bouquet is marked by a impressive fruitiness, and the palate demonstrates all of the amazing qualities of the Collio: superb weight and viscosity, mineral-edged, savoury, tangy, and lively.
Bright, crisp notes of apricot and wet slate are vibrant and refreshing. Pleasantly off-dry, this is the perfect choice for spicy Asian cuisine…or with soft cheeses.
In the glass, a medium golden colour with an emerald hue. Lively and energetic on the nose with zesty citrus notes and a cool maritime breeze suggesting sea minerals. On the palate, complex and layered hints of lemongrass, beeswax, lime preserve and raw acacia honey combine for a wine of substantial depth and structure. Enjoy its youthful electricity now or cellar for up to a decade for even more substance and richness.
“The 2014 Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Kabinett displays a very pure and flinty bouquet with lovely fruit aromas. Light-bodied on the palate, this is a light and round, stimulatingly juicy Riesling of great purity, elegance and finesse. The finish is stimulatingly salty. Very light 8% alcohol and almost 70 grams of unconverted sugar. This is perfectly balanced and round, but pretty sweet.” RP
No wine town on the Mosel, Saar or Ruwer is like the other. This uniqueness is also found in our Kabinetts. These are local Riesling wines that express in a nuanced way the character of the local layers – from the soil to the microclimate. This is possible through loving, conscientious manual work. The Episcopal wineries Trier rely on a selective harvest, a particularly gentle grape processing and an extensive maturation – our Kabinetts are on the fine yeast until the spring of the year following the harvest. The result is harmonious, elegant Riesling, in which the respective wine is reflected finesse.
A cornucopia of flavours made with 11 different grape varietals. The wine opens with an abundance of stone fruit – apricot and peach, followed by spicy floral notes, green apple, lemon and orange blossom.
Apple, pear, lemon, and a subtle undercurrent of stone fruit can be found on the nose. The bright acidity leads the attack of orchard fruit and pineapple with citrus carrying through the mid-palate and into the well-balanced finish. Our winemaker worked hard to preserve the fresh, vibrant character of the wine from grape all the way to bottle.
This Chardonnay opens with rich notes of vanilla bean and almond husk, reminiscent of a decadent crème brûlée. The creamy notes are balanced by a soft minerality and a hint of tropical fruit. Those creamy notes continue to your palate where they are joined with bright acidity and well-integrated oak that leads into a long, creamy finish.
Brickyard is made by Redstone, owned by Morey Tawse. It’s a medium sweet style that is carried nicely by firm acidity. Expect aromas of ripe MacIntosh apple, white flowers and lemon that carry well on the palate. The fine lemony acidity of the 2014 vintage sears through nicely on the finish, and the length extends to very good length. Chill it well; fine for Japanese cuisine; pork roasts. Tasted December 2015. Value rating +++ Score – 88. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Dec. 17, 2015)
The North Coast Chardonnay opens with delicious aromas of Fuji apple and vanilla with a touch of soft baking spice. Rich flavours of Asian pear, white peach and lemon are accented with flavours of vanilla oak and a touch of smoke. Coating and spreading across the palate, this wine has nice acidity and a delightful finish.
A restrained, crisp and fresh Chardonnay that nicely balances aromas of ripe cantaloupe melon and peach fruit with complex popcorn, hazelnut, and lemon notes. The palate is medium-bodied, has crisp mineral acidity and intense lemon zest, nectarine, peach and some interesting subtle nutty oak notes in the background. The finish is long, crisp and refreshing with layers of flavours of savoury lees and fruit complexity that unfold in the glass. Pair this with halibut sautéed in butter or rotisserie chicken.
