Inspired by the graceful cherub from whom its name derives, Amour de Deutz is a rare cuvee. The wine boasts the impish charms of youth, which will gradually softens over the years to reveal the grape’s quintessential qualities in a harmony for all the senses. A unique, refined and amazing cuvee.
Deutz’s 2012 Vintage Brut (LA116D25717) has a white / copper-golden color and opens with a terribly clear, fresh, concentrated and aromatic bouquet of ripe white fruits, nuts and a classic chalkiness in the background. The palate is tight, pure, dry, fresh, straight and structured but elegant, with a long, mineral finish. Very stimulating yet tight, this is a really great 2012 and still terribly fresh! Tasted in June 2018. Wine Advocate-Parker: 90 PTS
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2008 has been distinguished globally as an exceptional champagne. This unique limited edition of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2008, designed by Lenny Kravitz, marks the second year of his collaboration with Dom Perignon. Lenny Kravitz elevates the iconic label on the Vintage 2008 bottle by borrowing from the craft of goldsmiths to work hammered metal on the surface of the shield.
The Taittinger Collection was the brainchild of Claude Taittinger, who in 1983 approached his first artist, Hungarian Victor Vasarely, with a view to commission him to make a distinctive look for a small number of 1978 vintage bottles.
Subsequent editions have featured the work of world famous artists such as the French surrealist André Masson and American pop artist Robert Rauschenberg.
This is only the 14th edition of its Collection since 1983, with Brazilian photographer, Sebastião Salgado commissioned to produce a limited edition label for Taittinger’s Brut Millésimé 2008.
Salgado is the first Brazilian and photographic artist to have been selected for the task, choosing to feature an image of a leopard captured in the Barab River Valley in Damaraland, Namibia, in 2005. The bottle has been designed in black with white writing in keeping with Salgado’s black and white photography.
Citrus fruits and fragrant honeysuckle on the nose; then the coup de grace of a weightlessly elegant mouthfeel that is so Comtes, with richer fruits like apricot and white pear following on. Delicate aeration encourages a note of oak. Masterly winemaking in warm ’06.
The 2006 brings back all the wonder of classic Comtes: the innocence of a joyful childhood, a free-as-air dash through endless blue daylight and a breathless plunge into an icy mountain rock pool. A wine of coiled energy, focus, precision and minerality that bores to the very core of the finest chalkfields of the Côte des Blancs.
