Black Swift The Hatch Vineyard Pinot Blanc

A great bit of irony here, this was hatched…at the hatch home farm, here in West Kelowna. Although this vineyard is physically home to our beloved hatch; since the inception of this renegade operation we have referred to the site as “Black Swift Vineyards” which now exists separately, a truly cyclical conundrum. 16ish acres planted intermittently between 1985-1997 to: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir & Gamay in descending order. The vineyard is defined by clay & intermittent mineral/larger rock deposits from Mt. Boucherie’s erosion. From a climatic perspective, this vineyard is planted with an exceptional selection of varietals logical to the location.
