Craft Cellars Presents The Fladgate Partnership Vintage Port Tasting May 21, 2025

The Fladgate Partnership produces Port using time-honored methods rooted in the Douro Valley. Grapes are hand-harvested from steep, terraced vineyards and traditionally foot-trodden in granite lagares to gently extract color and tannin. Fermentation is halted by the addition of grape spirit (aguardente), preserving natural sweetness and fortifying the wine. The Ports are then aged in either large oak vats or smaller casks, depending on the style—ranging from youthful and fruit-driven rubies to exquisitely aged tawnies. This meticulous process, overseen by generations of winemaking expertise, ensures balance, depth, and longevity in every bottle.
