The Prisoner Wine Co ‘Saldo’ Zinfandel

Dark ruby color with bold aromas of black licorice, black pepper, cherry, and baking spice. The entry is rich, full, and scintillating. The palate is mouthwatering and smooth with a hint of chocolate. The finish is voluptuous with soft, velvety tannins.

While sampling grapes from fine-quality vineyards to make The Prisoner, we came across many that, although not right for that distinctive Napa Valley blend, were just too good to let go. We created Saldo to feature this outstanding fruit from Dry Creek, Lodi, and Amador, where Zinfandel has thrived for decades.

Undurraga T.H. Carmenere

Smooth and spicy black cherry, cassis and herbal aromas are muscular but not heavy. Lively acidity adds punch to the palate, while this dry-farmed Maule Cabernet tastes of red plum, currant and spicy oak. Drink through 2026.

Villa Poggio Salvi Brunello Annata Docg

Beautiful ruby red with a sheen of tile. The nose is classic, seductive Brunello with rose pedals, red cherries, Mediterranean herbs, tobacco, licorice, sweet balsamic vinegar and a little “spicy” cedar. In the mouth delicious fruitcharmerizing with elegant mineral freshness in the slightly spicy, tannin polished aftertaste.

Vina Real Crianza

This wine shows shades of medium to deep shiny cherry colour. To the nose, intense aromas of ripe fruits (blackberries, blackcurrants) stand out, complemented with subtle hints of oak, vanilla and spices aromas. To the palate, it shows structured and round with a good integration of fruitiness and oakiness. The aftertaste is marked by very well balanced tannins as well as by persistent spicy, toasty and balsamic aromas. A long stay in bottle is the finishing touch to this Rioja Alavesa wine’s character.

Wakefield Clare Valley Shiraz

Tasting Notes – Colour At release the wine is a dark red colour with ruby red hues.

Tasting Notes – Nose The wine has a seductive, lifted aroma characterised by plum, blackcurrant and dark cherry fruits along with subtle chocolate and a touch of oak derived spice.

Tasting Notes – Palate The palate is plump & generous with ripe fruit characters of plum and blackberry. Mocha coffee and subtle spice from oak maturation balance the fruit flavours. The wine is medium to full-bodied with a fleshy mid-palate & supple tannin structure. It is a well balanced wine with great texture, good length and enjoyable fruit on the finish.

Winemaker Notes The fruit was sourced from the Taylor family estate in the Clare Valley. Once harvested, the fruit was quickly transferred to the winery and de-stemmed. Primary fermentation was carried out in stainless steel fermenters then the grapes were pressed using a pneumatic bag press with all pressings returned to add weight and texture to the wine. The wine was then transferred to American oak barrels for secondary, malolactic fermentation. The wine was matured in American oak for 12 months followed by fining, minimal filtration & bottling.

Zenato Cresasso IGT

Made from Corvina Veronese, this single-vineyard designate wine is deeply connected to the land where it is grown.

Its intense, deep ruby red color tinges the glass as its thick, lingering legs slide down the edges.

On the nose, it delivers a spectrum of delicious and enchanting red fruit, blueberry, and blackberry notes that evolve into intense aromas of black cherry, cooked prune, and jam.

It’s ideal for grilled meats, roast meats, game, and grilled sausage. It also pairs wonderfully with aged cheeses and rich tomato sauces prepared with herbs.
