Lacrima Di Morro Superiore

The 2021 vintage in the Marche region was marked by a mild spring and a warm, dry summer, with well-timed rains in late August ensuring optimal ripening. These conditions favored the Lacrima di Morro d’Alba grape, known for its intensely aromatic character, allowing for full flavor development while preserving bright acidity. The resulting wines are vibrant, concentrated, and finely structured, making 2021 a standout vintage for this appellation.

Tasting Notes & Serving Suggestions:
The 2021 Velenosi Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Superiore is intensely aromatic and expressive, showing perfumed notes of rose petals, violets, and wild strawberry, intertwined with hints of blackberry, sandalwood, and spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and supple, with flavors of ripe red cherry, plum, and pomegranate, balanced by fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins. The finish is long, floral, and slightly savory, capturing the distinctive elegance of the Lacrima grape.
Serve at 15–16Β°C (59–61Β°F), in Burgundy-style Pinot Noir glasses to showcase its aromatic complexity. Decant for 30 minutes to allow the floral bouquet to fully unfold. Ideal pairings include grilled lamb chops, duck breast with cherry glaze, truffle risotto, or semi-aged pecorino. Best enjoyed now for its freshness but capable of aging gracefully for 5–7 years.
