Kelp Stout – Tofino Brewing Company (6% abv) 4 pack 473ml cans

Tofino is a West Coast Beach town and when wading through the world famous surf is of course Kelp. Why not brew with it right? The Kelp Stout is a winter seasonal beer from the Tofino Brewing Company and is another west coast twist on a classic brew. This beer pours with three fingers of fluffy head atop a near black coloured stout. The aroma is of toasted chestnuts, chocolate and what is almost a lickerish note. The flavour is dark with a briny texture coming across quite salty in the front. The salt mellows slightly near the finish allowing a toasted malt and light chocolate flavours to creep through. The saltiness remains in the finish along side the dry chocolate.
