History

Named after the river Spey which flows through the region, Speyside is known for its sherry cask matured and robust style. Although it’s not close to the largest by mass, Speyside is the most densely populated Whisky region in the world. Whiskies from this region are often (but not always) unpeated, and you can typically find notes of Apple, stewed fruits, vanilla, honey, and a medley of baking spices.
