Wente Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon
$19.99
Our Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is named for our vineyards located along the southern hills of the Central Coast. The Wente family farms approximately 400 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards using the two clones originating from California wine pioneer Charles Wetmore’s Bordeaux cuttings in the 19th century. With well-drained rocky soils and unique microclimates, the Southern Hills vineyards are in the most desirable settings, with exposures ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon of distinct character, depth, and intensity.
Wente Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic example of an approachable California Cabernet. Clean and concise fruit leads every step of the way showcasing fresh blackberry, cassis, and black cherry which is supported by a delightful layering of oak-inspired flavors including chocolate and a touch of freshly baked gingerbread. The balanced, well-polished wine and the fruity substance, integrated oak, and underlying structure make it clear that this Wente fan favorite will drink beautifully for the next 3-5 years.
