A perennial classic with 2020 being no exception to the exotic rule, in perfume and palate toothsomeness but most of all, always that true phenolic character captured out of the driest of dry Alsace climate. You can literally feel 90 days of bottled 26 degree weather, sunshine and wind, all tolled and toiled inside a varietal wine that just acts exactly as it should. The honeyed litchi notes mixed with candied rose petals and sweet botanicals make this a cocktail of its own accord. No it’s not a dessert wine and sushi is the obvious other pairing but a glass with a bowl of fresh local strawberries would be so nice. Or foie gras. Whatever floats your boat.
