A bold four-star vintage with ripe fruit and smooth tannins, perfect for immediate enjoyment. Our Rosso di Montalcino offers familiar notes of apricot, cherry, leather, and tobacco with a lighter structure and complexity than our Brunello, making it pleasantly easy to drink. The 2017 Rosso di Montalcino delivers concentrated flavors of blackberry, plum, and sweet tobacco, reflecting the warm growing season. Moderate acidity and velvety tannins provide a rounded mouthfeel. Decanting reveals additional notes of earth and cocoa, enhancing the wine’s complexity. It pairs perfectly with grilled meats, aged cheeses, or pasta with ragu, making it ideal for festive occasions. Rosso di Montalcino pairs well with many dishes from earthy mushroom risotto, meats, and cheeses, and shines with wild meats, pecorino (sheep) cheese as well as hearty vegetarian dishes. This vintage is approachable now but will continue to develop over the next 5-8 years. A versatile wine, it offers both depth and accessibility, perfect for casual dinners or celebrations.
