Anohka Progress report #3 (250ML)

Nestled on a 110-acre farm in Parkland County, Alberta, Anohka Distillery embraces a true farm-to-flask philosophy. The distillery grows much of its own barley alongside wheat and canola, with a portion malted locally by Hammer Malt, showcasing Alberta's world-class grain-growing conditions. By combining traditional distilling methods with modern production techniques, Anohka aims to produce distinctly Albertan single malts that highlight terroir as much as craftsmanship. The Progress Report series documents the distillery's early years, with each release capturing a unique stage in the refinement of its mashing, fermentation, distillation, and maturation processes. These whiskies are intentionally one-time releases that will never be replicated as production continues to evolve.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Honeysuckle, dried fruit, traditional sherry notes, honey, toasted malt, and hints of chocolate are layered over soft vanilla and oak.

Palate: Rich and fruity with notes of stewed orchard fruit, malt, sherry sweetness, oak, and a distinctive savoury umami character that adds depth and complexity.

Finish: Long and satisfying with lingering honey, dark chocolate, orange zest, gentle oak spice, and sweet malt.
