Becherovka

Becherovka originates from Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic, where it was first produced in the early 19th century by pharmacist Josef Becher. Originally developed as a herbal tonic, the spirit evolved into one of Europe’s most recognizable herbal liqueurs while remaining closely associated with Czech drinking culture and spa traditions.

The liqueur is crafted from a closely guarded recipe incorporating a blend of herbs, spices, botanicals, and citrus elements sourced from around the world. Ingredients are carefully macerated and blended before maturation, allowing the flavours to integrate and develop the spirit’s signature bittersweet balance.

Known for its distinctive cinnamon and clove-forward profile alongside herbal and citrus complexity, Becherovka occupies a unique space between amaro, herbal digestif, and spiced liqueur. The result is a spirit that is both warming and refreshing, equally suited to sipping neat or mixing into cocktails.
