Black Hills Brut

Black Hills Estate Winery was founded in the South Okanagan in the 1990s and became one of the pioneering producers of the Black Sage Bench. The region’s dry climate, long sunny days and cool nights help wines retain freshness while developing concentrated flavour.
The current Brut is based on fruit from the 2019 vintage. Chardonnay provides citrus, florals and finesse, while Pinot Noir adds red fruit and weight. Whole bunches were gently pressed, with fermentation in stainless steel and neutral oak, followed by secondary fermentation in bottle. The wine spent 40 months on lees before disgorgement, then rested another 12 months in bottle. Residual sugar is approximately 4.1 g/L.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale gold with fine, persistent bubbles.

Nose: Lemon, tangerine and jasmine with red apple, wild raspberry and fresh brioche.

Palate: Bright and energetic, with citrus and orchard fruit balanced by creamy lees texture and refined mousse.

Finish: Long and crisp, with toasted brioche, citrus and distinctive chalky minerality.
