There are hints of red fruits—like raisins or cherry—and a touch of nutty wood. The palate carries forward bold peat and brine, balanced by sherry-driven dried fruit, chocolate, and nutmeg. Toward the finish the smoke remains firm, intertwined with licorice, orange marmalade, and subtle tobacco. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to soften the smoke and draw out its fruitier aspects. Use a tulip or Glencairn glass to help the aroma evolve.
