Cadenhead Cameronbridge 33 Year Old

Cameronbridge was founded in 1824 by John Haig in Fife and became an important site in the development of continuous grain distillation. Today it is a major component producer for Diageo’s blended whiskies, making independently bottled, long-aged Cameronbridge an interesting opportunity to taste its grain spirit on its own. The whisky spent its full 33-year maturation in bourbon hogsheads, rather than receiving a secondary wine or sherry finish. After that much time in American oak, the casks have developed the spirit toward caramel, tropical fruit, coconut and polished wood while retaining some of the lighter floral character associated with mature grain whisky.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Creamy brandy butter and toffee with dried mango and a touch of cedarwood.

Palate: Anise and delicate floral notes lead into coconut and pineapple, balancing mature sweetness with brighter tropical fruit.

Finish: Warming and gently herbal with chamomile, white pepper and kiwi, followed by a subtle pine-like freshness.
