Cadenhead’s Ardnamurchan 5 Year Old

Ardnamurchan Distillery sits on the rugged northwest coast of Scotland and is one of the newer craft whisky producers, having begun production in 2014. It makes both peated and unpeated Highland single malts that reflect its dramatic coastal surroundings and dedication to quality. The distillery is notable for combining traditional whisky-making with sustainable practices and remote location influence.

Nose: Earthy and intriguing with hints of tomato purée, oregano and sugarcane, underscored by a subtle smoky edge.

Palate: A robust and savory core opens with pancetta, strawberry conserve and BBQ-like BBQ coals, balanced by rich cocoa powder and a touch of nettle tea.

Finish: Long-lasting with salty, spicy notes of paprika and marjoram, while a hint of bothy fire and molasses lingers pleasantly.
