Ch de la Roulerie Chenin Blanc

Château de la Roulerie is a historic estate in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné in Anjou, with origins tracing back to the 14th century. Philippe and Marie Germain acquired the property in 2004, leaving Bordeaux to restore its vineyards and historic gravity-fed winery. The estate’s Anjou Blanc is produced from 100% Chenin Blanc grown on a combination of schist and clay-limestone soils. These contrasting soils help give the wine both ripe fruit character and the mineral tension associated with Loire Valley Chenin.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Bright pale gold with subtle straw reflections.

Nose: Expressive aromas of white flowers, pear, citrus zest, and ripe orchard fruit, joined by quince and a subtle fresh mint character.

Palate: Fresh and beautifully balanced, with flavours of ripe peach, pear, quince, and crisp apple. A backbone of lime and citrus acidity provides energy, while maturation in older barrels contributes gentle roundness and texture.

Finish: Clean and persistent, with lingering citrus, orchard fruit, delicate minerality, and a subtly refreshing herbal note. The wine remains dry and lively, with the acidity providing excellent definition.
