Château de Laubade Bas Armagnac 1996

The 1996 vintage comes from a year marked by balanced ripening and excellent fruit concentration. Nearly three decades of quiet maturation in Laubade’s Gascon oak barrels have shaped the eaux-de-vie into a spirit with both structure and elegance, offering maturity without heaviness and depth without excess sweetness.

Nose:
Warm aromas of dried apricot, fig, and prune layered with vanilla, caramelized sugar, and toasted oak. Hints of cocoa, tobacco leaf, and candied orange add complexity.

Palate:
Silky and composed with flavours of stewed fruit, golden raisin, and soft toffee. Mid-palate develops into warm baking spice, polished oak, and subtle notes of leather and walnut. The texture is smooth yet richly detailed, showcasing the benefits of long aging.

Finish:
Long, warming, and refined with lingering dried fruit, vanilla, gentle spice, and a mellow, well-aged oak presence.
