Eau Claire Distillery Rupert’s Whisky

Rupert’s Exceptional Canadian Whisky is produced by Eau Claire Distillery in Turner Valley, Alberta, where the foothills of the Rocky Mountains meet some of Canada’s most celebrated barley-growing country. Eau Claire emphasizes a farm-to-glass approach, growing and harvesting the barley used for its small-batch whiskies and drawing clear mountain water originating from the Sheep River.
Rupert’s is made with Alberta barley and matured for a minimum of three years in a combination of sherry and ex-bourbon barrels. The expression has built an impressive awards record. Rupert’s received Double Gold at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, while Eau Claire also lists Best in Class, Platinum, and Double Gold recognition from the competition in 2024.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Delicate sweetness and candied ginger lead into soft fruit, caramel, vanilla, and gentle baking spice.

Palate: Smooth and creamy with brown sugar and buttery vanilla at the forefront, developing into soft caramel, fruitcake, roasted nuts, chocolate, and peppery spice.

Finish: Lingering sherry-cask character gives way to warming spice, barrel notes, citrus peel, and a touch of chocolate, with a gently drying finish.
