Fathertime Bourbon Caboose

Fathertime “The Caboose” Precious Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the latest release from Fathertime Bourbon, the independent whiskey project founded by comedian Jim Gaffigan and his longtime friend Stu Pollard. Rather than simply lending his name to a sourced whiskey, Gaffigan describes tasting through barrels with Pollard and blending them until they arrive at a profile they want to drink themselves. The bourbon is sourced from Kentucky distilleries, blended and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky.
The standard Precious Batch edition is bottled at 92.4 proof, with Breaking Bourbon reporting a high-rye mash bill of 63% corn, 30% rye and 7% malted barley.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Butterscotch and brown butter lead into moist yellow cake and brown sugar, with cinnamon and a warm root-beer-like spice adding depth.

Palate: Caramel, vanilla and melted butterscotch form the rich, sweet core, balanced by lively rye and baking spices from the high-rye recipe.

Finish: Baking spice and rye pepper linger alongside caramel, butterscotch candy and a touch of oak, finishing relatively clean and concise.
