Glenfarclas Family Cask 2006 S24

Produced at Glenfarclas Distillery in Ballindalloch, Speyside, this 2006 vintage Family Cask was distilled in 2006 and bottled as part of the Summer 2024 Family Casks Release (S24). The Family Casks collection, first introduced in 2007, is one of the most respected single cask series in Scotch whisky, showcasing individual vintages from the distillery's extensive warehouses. Glenfarclas remains one of Scotland's last family-owned distilleries, having been operated by the Grant family since 1865. This release was matured for approximately 18 years in a single sherry-seasoned cask before being bottled at natural colour, non-chill filtered, and cask strength, preserving every nuance of the whisky's character.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense aromas of raisins, dried figs, orange marmalade, honeycomb, polished oak, dark toffee, roasted nuts, cinnamon, and rich sherry sweetness unfold with remarkable depth.

Palate: Full-bodied and powerful with layers of dark chocolate, fruitcake, molasses, espresso, candied orange peel, marzipan, baking spices, honeyed malt, and mature oak balanced by impressive richness and texture.

Finish: Long, warming, and complex with lingering notes of dried fruit, cocoa, oak spice, leather, roasted coffee, and sweet sherry influence that slowly fades into elegant tannins.
