Glenglassaugh 2012-9 Year Old Cask 523-Rare Single Cask Release

Exclusively selected and bottled for Craft Cellars. Peated / American Wine Hogshead Cask. This 9 year old Glenglassaugh was distilled on 09/05/2012 and aged for 9 years in an American Wine Hogshead before being bottled at 58.7%   On the crescent beach of Sandend Bay stands The Glenglassaugh Distillery. Producing a luscious coastal Malt, shaped by the rich abundance of land and sea, giving rolling waves of flavour. A complete distillation of its natural surroundings. A Whisky whose essence is distilled from the visible and invisible influences of land, sea, air and spring water. Hints of currant and ginger jam with raspberry drizzled banana sundae, and salted caramel. On the palate elegant smoke interwoven with red cherry and berry fruits dusted with cocoa come forward on the nose, followed by toasted vanilla, smoked cherry wood and mandarin orange with cranberry, cocoa and pepper sauce. Shanes Notes: Nose: Roasted marshmallow, butterscotch, bright cherries, barley sugar, graham crackers, smoked cherry wood and chocolate. Just a touch of smoke on the nose. Palate: Elegant smoke with ginger jam, blackcurrant, raspberries, and butterscotch. Creamy, salted butter, orange peel and apricot. Tons of fruit popping up between the sweet and smoke. Finish: Dark chocolate, honey smoked ham, clean smoke (think cedar fire), white pepper,  nutmeg, and leather.
