Grainhenge Whisky Meeting Creek IV

Produced by GrainHenge Whisky, the whisky division of Troubled Monk Brewery in Red Deer, Alberta, Meeting Creek IV is the fourth installment in the distillery's flagship single malt series. Inspired by the grain elevators and farming communities that helped shape the Canadian Prairies, the release pays tribute to the resilience and history of Meeting Creek, Alberta. Unlike many Canadian whiskies, GrainHenge draws heavily from its craft brewing expertise, utilizing a mash bill of 2-row, amber, crystal, brown, and chocolate malts to create a whisky with remarkable malt complexity. Batch IV was matured in a combination of #3 and #4 char new American oak barrels for up to 57 months and bottled at 46.1% ABV.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Soft vanilla leads the way, layered with notes of chocolate, honeycomb cereal, light caramel, baking spice, and a gentle roasted malt character.

Palate: Rich and approachable with flavours of vanilla, light caramel, milk chocolate, biscuit malt, honey, subtle orange citrus, and warming oak spice.

Finish: Long and satisfying with lingering roasted coffee, dark chocolate, honey biscuit, and gentle barrel spice balanced by smooth malt sweetness.
