Gres Saint-Paul Coteaux du Languedoc Antonin

Gres Saint-Paul Coteaux du Languedoc Antonin

A destemmed blend of 80% Syrah and 10% each of Grenache and Mourvèdre that was raised all in concrete tanks. Possessing a dense, dark fruit, licorice and violet-tinged personality, it has ripe tannin, good acidity and clean finish. I like the fruit here. Jeb Dunnuck

Gres Saint-Paul Coteaux du Languedoc Antonin

Château Grès Saint-Paul is a family estate near Lunel, between Montpellier and Nîmes, with winemaking roots dating to 1830. Its approximately 24 hectares overlook the Camargue and benefit from a warm Mediterranean climate moderated by coastal breezes. The historic Coteaux du Languedoc appellation became part of the broader Languedoc AOC in 2007. Antonin is the estate’s flagship red, built around 80% Syrah with 10% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre. The style is classically Mediterranean, emphasizing ripe dark fruit, spice and structure while maintaining notable freshness.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep garnet with a concentrated ruby core.

Nose: Blackberry, blackcurrant and dark cherry with florals, liquorice, warm spice and subtle roasted notes.

Palate: Rich and full-bodied, with ripe dark fruit, fine but substantial tannins and enough freshness to balance its Mediterranean ripeness.

Finish: Long and savoury, with lingering blackberry, spice, liquorice and subtle earthy notes.
