Laphroaig 14 Year Old Willem Dafoe

This special release was developed in collaboration with actor Willem Dafoe and Laphroaig's Senior Whisky Blender Sarah Dowling. Rather than evaluating whiskies through conventional tasting descriptions, Dafoe selected his preferred expression based on instinct, sensory impressions and personal connection.

The whisky was initially matured in ex-bourbon casks, followed by approximately nine months of finishing in Oloroso sherry casks. The result is a whisky that maintains Laphroaig's unmistakable identity while exploring the richer, more layered character of sherry-cask finishing.

Laphroaig deliberately released this whisky without conventional tasting notes, encouraging drinkers to form their own impressions. The following is a restrained interpretation of its published flavour characteristics.
Nose: Deep peat smoke and coastal sea air, with gentle oak sweetness and subtle sherry warmth.
Palate: Rich smoke and sea salt meet soft sweetness, warming spice and a rounded, layered texture.
Finish: Long, smoky and mouthwatering, with lingering maritime salinity and gentle spice
