Macaloney's Kirkinriola Moscatel

Produced by Macaloney’s Island Distillery in Victoria, British Columbia, Kirkinriola Moscatel is part of the distillery’s award-winning line of world-style single malt whiskies inspired by traditional Scottish production methods while embracing Canadian terroir. Founded by whisky expert and former peat scientist Dr. Graeme Macaloney, the distillery has quickly gained international recognition for producing highly awarded single malts using imported Scottish barley, traditional copper pot stills, and carefully selected specialty casks. “Kirkinriola,” derived from Gaelic, references the historic chapel district of Victoria and reflects the distillery’s strong Scottish heritage. This expression is matured in American oak before finishing in Moscatel wine casks, adding layers of floral sweetness, tropical fruit, and dessert-like complexity.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of honeyed apricot, orange blossom, raisins, vanilla cream, floral wine notes, toasted oak, and soft baking spice rise elegantly from the glass.

Palate: Rich and silky with layers of peach preserves, caramelized pear, malted biscuit, candied citrus, sultanas, nutmeg, honey, and creamy oak balanced by warming spice and gentle wine sweetness.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering dried fruit, vanilla custard, oak spice, floral sweetness, and soft wine-soaked raisin notes.
