Macaloney's Peat Project Canadian Single Malt Whisky

From the 'peated' single malt range, this island whisky undergoes double distillation using traditional Scottish methods, uses only the finest local malted barley and is uniquely peat-smoke at the distillery - a practice exclusive to a select few. Fully matured in a carefully selected Bourbon cask, blanketed with fresh maritime island air. This single case allows comparison with other peat terroirs encompassing Washinton-USA, Canada and Scotland, and across our range of wine, virgin oak and Bourbon casks.

The nose present sweet American oak, wild-flower meadow, daffodils, honey-comb, dried apricot, and dried mango, leading to butterscotch, dried vanilla pod, almonds, nutmeg, and cellar. It then finishes to oiled oak, burning heather and distant bonfire. The palate is velvety with creme caramel, lemon tart, ripe peaches, raisins, mixed dried peel, malted barley, milk chocolate and sweet peat smoke. The lingering finish has a hint of hickory-smoked bacon, cellared oak, and bonfire leading to ocean-spray salt.
