Master of Malt Bunnahabhain 15 Year Old 2009

Founded in 1881 on the remote north-eastern coast of Islay, Bunnahabhain is celebrated for its distinctive house style, traditionally favouring unpeated or lightly peated spirit that highlights coastal freshness and sherry cask maturation. Its sheltered location overlooking the Sound of Islay contributes a subtle maritime influence, often expressed as sea spray and mineral notes. This 2009 vintage was carefully selected and bottled by Master of Malt after 15 years in oak, presented without chill filtration or added colouring to preserve its natural character.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Inviting aromas of dried apricot, golden raisin and orange peel mingle with salted caramel, roasted almonds and soft coastal air, supported by gentle oak spice.

Palate: Smooth and rounded, unfolding with toffee sweetness, honeyed malt and dark fruit compote, layered with toasted nuts, baking spice and a delicate thread of sea salt.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering notes of caramelised sugar, dried fruit and subtle maritime salinity, fading into soft oak and a refined, nutty dryness.
