Meikle Tòir 2019 PX #8718

Part of the Meikle Tòir peated single malt series produced at The GlenAllachie Distillery in Speyside, this whisky comes from a single PX sherry cask (#8718) distilled in 2019 and bottled at cask strength in limited numbers. Meikle Tòir (meaning “big pursuit”) represents GlenAllachie’s dedicated effort to craft a distinctive peated style using mainland peat from St Fergus, guided by master distiller Billy Walker. These single-cask releases mark a significant chapter for the young peated range, hand-selected to showcase individual cask character.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich dried fruit and dark treacle sweetness with notes of raisin cake, molasses and oak spice, balanced by warm maple and gentle smoke.

Palate: Full-flavoured and layered with stewed fruit, chocolate-covered dates, cinnamon-spiced oak and earthy peat smoke, unfolding into toasted hazelnut and baking spice.

Finish: Long and indulgent with lingering fruit-cake sweetness, cocoa dusting and soft, lingering peat smoke rounding into a warm, spiced close.
