Produced by Zuidam Distillers in Baarle-Nassau, the Netherlands, Millstone Rye 19 Year Old Single Cask is a rare example of long-aged European rye whisky. Founded in 1975 by Fred van Zuidam and still family owned today, Zuidam is renowned for producing handcrafted spirits using traditional Dutch windmills to mill grain, small copper pot stills for distillation, and slow, natural maturation. The Millstone range has earned an international reputation for producing world-class rye and single malt whiskies that combine traditional craftsmanship with innovative cask selection. This single cask expression was distilled from a mash bill dominated by rye, matured for 19 years in an individual American oak cask, and bottled at natural colour, without chill filtration, preserving the whisky exactly as it developed in the warehouse. Limited single cask releases such as this are highly sought after for their individuality and rarity.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Elegant aromas of vanilla bean, honey, baked apple, dried apricot, toasted coconut, orange peel, polished oak, cinnamon, and gentle rye spice develop alongside hints of leather and roasted almonds.

Palate: Rich and silky with layers of caramel, honeycomb, rye bread, dried figs, butterscotch, dark chocolate, clove, nutmeg, toasted oak, and pepper balanced by remarkable maturity and an oily texture.

Finish: Exceptionally long with lingering notes of sweet oak, baking spice, vanilla, dried fruit, cocoa, gentle rye warmth, and subtle tobacco.
