North Star Bothy by Ralfy 11 Year Old

Produced in collaboration with Glasgow independent bottler North Star Spirits, this 11 year old blended malt was crafted as part of the company’s 10th anniversary celebrations and bottled under its Cask Series 027 label. The whisky was blended live at “The Whisky Bothy” during a two-hour session streamed to Ralfy’s Patreon community, using five carefully selected casks from across Scotland including Teaninich, Caol Ila, Auchroisk, a secret Campbeltown malt, and a secret Speyside malt. Bottled at 54.1% ABV without chill filtration or added colour, the release was limited to just 1,320 bottles, with proceeds supporting Macmillan Cancer Support through Ralfy’s “Al’s Pal’s” initiative.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Rich aromas of raisin oak, soft vanilla, syrupy ginger, stewed plum, gentle smoke, and savoury spice unfold alongside hints of French mustard and sweet sherry influence. Adding water amplifies the sweetness and cask richness.

Palate: Full-bodied and layered with Caol Ila peat smoke, oak spice, liquorice, ginger warmth, absinthe-like herbal notes, and touches of salt, tar, mint, and savoury green herbs.

Finish: Long, warming, and smoky with lingering chimney peat, peppery oak, salted ash, herbal freshness, and subtle sherried sweetness.
