Lagg 2019 Inaugural Release Batch 2 Sherry Finish Bot.2022

LIMIT 1 PER PERSON/HOUSEHOLD The second in the line of inaugural releases from Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran. This heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky was distilled twice, before maturing for two and a half years in bourbon casks, and finishing for six months in custom made oloroso sherry Firkin casks. Bottled in 2022 at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered and with no additional colour, Batch 2 gives us promising signs of things to come from the folks at Lagg. Nose: Smouldering camp bonfires, a touch of milk chocolate, dried vine fruits, and cacao nibs. Palate: Earthy peat smoke is joined by silky caramel, dried prunes, and warm cinnamon. Finish: Bonfire smoke lingers, along with gentle tannins, and baking spices.
