Springbank 5 Year Old 100 Proof

Springbank Distillery, founded in 1828 in Campbeltown on Scotland’s Kintyre Peninsula, is one of the country’s most traditional whisky producers and remains family-owned by J&A Mitchell & Co. It is renowned for carrying out nearly every step of production on site—from floor malting and distillation to maturation and bottling—making it one of the most hands-on distilleries in Scotland. The 5 Year Old 100 Proof marks a modern revival of a historic bottling style that disappeared in the 1990s. Fully matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 57.1% ABV (100 proof), this release is presented at natural colour and without chill filtration. Released in small batches, it highlights Springbank’s lightly peated, coastal style with minimal cask influence, allowing the distillery character to shine

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Bright and vibrant with green apples, gorse bush, wine gums, and a fresh mineral note.

Palate: Balanced and lively with gentle peat smoke, icing sugar, and white chocolate, followed by subtle hints of tomato plant, sunflower seeds, and linseed oil.

Finish: Honeyed and slightly tart with lingering notes of gooseberries and soft malt sweetness.
