Tolaini 2021 Valdisanti

Tolaini is a prestigious estate located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, the southernmost commune of Chianti Classico. Founded by entrepreneur Pier Luigi Tolaini in the late 1990s, the winery quickly established itself as one of Tuscany’s leading producers through meticulous vineyard selection, low yields, and a focus on world-class Bordeaux varieties alongside Sangiovese.

Valdisanti was first created as a tribute to the great Super Tuscan wines that helped redefine Italian winemaking. The 2021 vintage is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, sourced from the estate’s high-elevation vineyards planted on limestone-rich soils. The exceptional 2021 growing season in Tuscany produced wines with remarkable concentration, freshness, and balance.

Colour: Deep ruby with purple-garnet reflections

Nose: Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry layered with notes of graphite, cedar, tobacco, violet, and sweet baking spice

Palate: Full-bodied and structured, with concentrated dark fruit flavours supported by polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Notes of cassis, cocoa, espresso, and Mediterranean herbs add depth and complexity

Finish: Long and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, mineral notes, fine oak spice, and remarkable freshness
