Vina Otano Rioja

Viña Otano is produced by a family-owned winery located in Rioja Alavesa, a subregion widely regarded for producing some of Rioja’s most balanced and expressive wines. Benefiting from a combination of Atlantic cooling influences, limestone-rich soils, and abundant sunshine, the vineyards are ideally suited to cultivating Tempranillo, the flagship grape of Rioja.

The wine is crafted primarily from Tempranillo, occasionally complemented by small amounts of traditional regional varieties depending on the vintage. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve freshness while developing concentration and structure. Fermentation takes place under temperature-controlled conditions to maintain fruit purity and aromatic expression.

A period of oak maturation, typically using American and/or French oak, contributes subtle layers of vanilla, spice, and texture while allowing the wine’s fruit character and regional identity to remain at the forefront. The resulting style is balanced, smooth, and unmistakably Rioja.
