Yamazaki 12 Year Old

Founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, Yamazaki was Japan's first malt whisky distillery. Located near Kyoto, where the Katsura, Uji and Kizu rivers converge, the distillery benefits from a humid climate and exceptional water sources that contribute to its distinctive maturation environment.

Yamazaki 12 Year Old has become one of the defining expressions of Japanese single malt whisky, admired for its layered complexity and exceptional balance.
Matured for a minimum of 12 years, this expression combines malt whiskies aged in three distinctive oak types:
- American oak: Contributes creamy vanilla, honey and ripe orchard fruit.
- Spanish oak: Introduces deeper sweetness, dried fruit and subtle richness.
- Japanese Mizunara oak: Adds fragrant wood, delicate spice and an unmistakably Japanese aromatic character.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Golden amber.
Nose: Ripe peach, persimmon and sweet vanilla mingle with delicate floral aromas and gentle oak.
Palate: Smooth and rounded, with honeyed sweetness, ripe orchard fruit, creamy vanilla and subtle notes of warm ginger and cinnamon.
Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering vanilla, fragrant oak and a gentle touch of sweet spice.
