Ardnamurchan AD/10.22 Madeira Cask Release

A total of 25 unpeated first-fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels were selected for the Ardnamurchan AD/10:22 Madeira Cask Release. These were then finished for 14 months in Madeira barriques. Nose: Very rich with baking spices and a whiff of candy-esque sweetness. That’s mainly candied red fruits like raspberry, strawberries and even cherries. Also a whiff of minerals, mocha, and orange zest. Truly enticing stuff. Taste: Fatty mouthfeel and sweet arrival. Notes of treacle, caramel-glazed apple and triple sec. Just a sprinkle of salt. Also more of those baking spices, mainly cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Finish : Medium length. Some chili heat here, as well as sandalwood and cough syrup. But were ending on the same sweet, fruity notes that have led most of the way.
