Ascheri 2020 Barolo

Ascheri’s 2020 Barolo is crafted from estate Nebbiolo grown in select vineyards across the Barolo zone, where a balanced growing season allowed for excellent ripeness and aromatic definition. Following careful hand harvesting, the fruit was vinified with extended maceration to extract structure and complexity while respecting Nebbiolo’s natural finesse. The wine was then aged in oak to develop depth and harmony, followed by bottle maturation to refine tannins and integrate the wine’s powerful elements. This traditional yet measured approach highlights both site expression and aging potential.

Tasting Notes:
Complex and expressive, the nose reveals layers of rose petal, dried cherry, and redcurrant, accented by notes of tar, spice, and earthy undertones. On the palate, the wine is structured and poised, with firm but well-shaped tannins supporting flavours of red fruit, licorice, and savoury spice. The finish is long and resonant, showing mineral depth and classic Barolo intensity with the promise of graceful evolution over time.
