Benrinnes 14 Year Old 2007 – Benchmark (Murray McDavid) Whisky

About Murray McDavid Founded in 1994 by Mark Reynier (current CEO of Waterford and Renegade), Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright (Springbank Distillery), Murray McDavid quickly made a name for itself with maturation in exquisite barrels. The team is also known for taking over and “rescuing” the Bruichladdich Distillery. Benrinnes 14yo 2007 A rich, hearty Benrinnes single malt from Murray McDavid, distilled in 2008 and matured for 14 years. It spent its final three years in a combination of tawny Port and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which were then married together when it was bottled in 2022. A limited 566 bottles were released for the Benchmark series at 50% ABV. Tasting Note by  Master of Malt Nose Almond butter, spiced apple crumble, and chai latte. Palate Chocolatey malt, plump dried fruit, cocoa, and buttery oak. Finish Dried cherry, runny honey, and a hint of red flowers.
