Bon Anno 2022/23 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

BonAnno, meaning “good year” in Italian and playing on vintner Matt Bonanno’s surname, was first released in 2004. Bonanno works with winemaker Jim Milone, sourcing fruit from several prime AVAs throughout Napa Valley to create an accessible, fruit-driven expression of the region.

The 2023 blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, 4% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. The wine spent 14 months in French oak, adding gentle spice and vanilla around the fresh berry fruit. The long, cool 2023 growing season allowed for extended ripening while retaining acidity and fine tannin structure.

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep ruby red.
Nose: Ripe cherry, raspberry and red currant with plum, cinnamon and subtle vanilla.
Palate: Smooth and medium-bodied, with fresh berry fruit, ripe plum and polished tannins balanced by lively acidity.
Finish: Clean and persistent, with lingering red fruit, baking spice and gentle oak.
